Update: I'm rearranging and rewriting my garden page... That means the photos and much of the text is older than the blog date.
Aaawwe! Isn't this a cute picture?
He is playing with the hose in our weed infested back yard. As you can see, he is watering his hair; he really loves playing in water, even to this day! Do you see the big tree next to Kyle in the photo? It is a green fig tree. Yuck! I don't like green figs, so it's gonna go bye bye. If only it were a Mission fig. Mmmm. Muy delicioso!
Now, as you can see from this picture, taken sometime in 2012, not much has changed since that cute picture was taken. Well, except for the nice big apricot tree in the middle of our half dead yard. It replaced the old one that came with the house when we bought it in 1997. That's right, this tree came from a seed! Oh, and there's the raised concrete block veggie garden we are trying to get going. Baby steps people. Baby steps. I must warn you that I have a khaki green thumb. Fortunately for me, my husband has the green thumb. Whew!
To the left of the fig stump is what we like to call: The Weed Tree. We have know idea what kind of tree it is, but it has multiple trunks. It was in sapling form when we first moved in. Now the million dollar question: "Why oh why didn't we take it out ten years ago when it was smaller?" I don't know? It too has to come out. And what better time now that it is HUGE!? Better late then never I suppose. Looks like I'm going to be a lot stronger soon. ha ha ha.
