I bought this cute little nesting side table from a discount store quite a while ago, and I've decided it needs a make over. I need this table to be bigger, and bigger it shall be! And as usual, I have my eldest boy, Tim, helping me get 'er done! And as most of our construction projects go, this went fairly smoothly!
I had my son cut the table top in half with his metal cutting wheel thing, and cut off the stretcher bar, thus making two pieces.
The next step was to file down the sharp metal and glue the walnut top pieces together. Then, mount the legs to the wood top.
Almost there!
I used mineral oil for the top and it's done! Well.... I'm thinking of adding a wood shelf at the base for two reasons. 1. It will give us more storage 2. Because as the table is, it's kinda rickety.
And here it is, in its spot by the couch. All that is missing is the lower shelf that will be added as soon as I can figure out how to attach it! Until the next project dear reader, this is the Whittier Housewife reminding you that...
