Also growing in this bed is agapanthas, their blue flowers are stunning next to the yellow rose - good job Robert! Also in this bed lemon balm lives next to an orange cosmos yet to bloom, and some struggling strawberries. Since I cleaned out the bed maybe now they will get some much needed sun! : )
As soon as he saw me come around the corner dragging the trash cans and garden tools he was all aglow with chocolate brown eye shining and toothy grin-you see dear reader, Kyle loves to 'help' garden. Not only because that means he will be supervising someone, namely me, but also his beloved green waste trash can will be full to overflowing come trash day! He was actually a great help to me and the time passed quickly for him, before we knew it his bus had come to take him off to school.
Tomorrow is another day and I think I will finally get the backyard rose bed watered, put a thick layer of wet newspaper down, and covered with black plastic, ready to cook weeds all summer in hopes it will be ready for bare-root season this winter.
