The Family-Bedrock of Civilization
he family unit is the bedrock of civilization. God established it, it is His idea, so as its engineer, he knows how it works best. On this page I will be exploring what I have learned about God's design for the family through His written instructions contained in the Bible. The godly standards of the institution of the family must be cherished, valued, and protected against both the current subtle redefining movement and the not so subtle attacks secular society has been waging upon it for centuries, under the well organized plan of God's age old enemy, and ours, Satan and his diabolically hoards of fallen angels. If you don't believe that God or these agents of evil exist, then unfortunately, you are already at a great disadvantage. Regarding this subject, it's not only about defining what a family is, but also what we as a society regard as being virtuous. Virtues can and do change, and the virtues upheld by a family specifically and a society in general, will either make, or break them. As the family goes, so goes the society.
Types of Families
In these so-called modern times we live in, thereare many different types, classifications, or labels we can slap onto the family tree such as: nuclear, blended, extended, and single parent. But I consider it a mistake to think of these kinds of families as being, well, "modern." These types of families have always existed. People are people no matter what their geography, or in what era of time they occupy, past or present. In an idyllic world the father and mother love each other, and together raise healthy and happy children in peace and harmony. But sin has marred this created world, along with God's design for the family. And so, we have to make due with what we have. Nowadays, it can also be said that no family type is really better than another, but what really matters is how well each role in the family you are a apart of, is performed to ensure its success. To an extent, I agree. After all, an old, but purring 4 cylinder engine is better than a broken V8 any day of the week. Let's face it, we don't live in the idyllic made for T.V. 1950's world. Even so, this superficial American standard is what many of us vainly try to achieve. It is so idyllic in fact, that I can't resist using the art from that iconic era on this site. But I assure you dear reader, my life doesn't perfectly reflect what is depicted in those Norman Rockwell type scenes. Need I say that most of us don't lead scripted lives where no one gets cancer, and all our problems, big or small, are solved in 30 minutes, or less, minus all the commercials?
What is needed in this life are those who are willing to roll up their sleeves and not mind getting their hands dirty, because this life is messy, thanks to sin. And in regard to all of those who grow weary of labels please understand that labels are good things, as long as they are used correctly. Many people have made their fortunes in the labeling and organization businesses. So that tells me that someone must like them and find them useful, someone like me -- because properly used labels help tame chaos and establish something many people like to call: order.

The nuclear and extended families, are the types of families which I am most familiar with. As for the the blended and single parent type of families, I will have to rely on others I know for insight into how they work, as well as looking to scripture. The kind of "modern" family I will not be addressing is that of the alternative/homosexual family. As a born-again Christian, I don't support the notion of a two-dad, or a two-mom family, where same sex "parents" share a bed. Is that to say I don't love homosexuals? No, I didn't say that. I know many people who are homosexuals, who are wonderful human beings, aside from their repugnant sexual sin, and I love them dearly.
Is that to say homosexuals aren't good parents? No, I didn't say that either. However, I find it very ironic and tragic that many homosexuals disdain and mock the very act that brought them into this world and provides them with the children they can't have on their own. Biology and common sense tells us that two men, or two women in sexual union is unnatural, and no amount of Scriptural word gymnastics, or faulty human reasoning in an effort to justify it, will make me see it any other way.
Yes dear reader, homosexuality is a sin, whether we want to accept that fact or not; a sin that history teaches us, when openly embraced and accepted in a society, usually heralds that society's impending demise; I simply don't love or wish to accept the sin they embrace, and I certainly will not condone, or support it. I mean what part of "abomination" do people not understand as being: filthy, detestable, loathsome, or utterly abhorrent? That is what God's calls homosexuality, an abomination, and I just so happen to agree with him. What I am dealing with here is God's architectural blueprint for his invention, the family, not mankind's futile attempts at spare part social engineering. Families and thus societies, that are built upon any and all rotten foundations, such as homosexual parents, simply will not last.

And so, topics on this page will include anything that affects the family in a positive, or negative way such as: religion, government, education, relationships and roles with in the family itself, business/money, and entertainment/media - which is a huge topic in and of itself. But first, let's define what a family is, shall we?

Influences On Family Life
There are many aspects in this life that influence us as individuals, which in turn affects the family unit as a whole, and then in turn affect society. Let's look at these six elements and examine their positive and negative effects upon us and our families from a Biblical perspective. On a side note: I was tempted to lump arts and entertainment into media, and call it "Mass Media", as media has elevated propaganda to an art form, and has become more of a three ring circus, than a reliable reporter of real news. However, for the sake of desiring proper definitions, I will stick to the separation of Arts & Entertainment from Media. On another side note worth mentioning, there is a movement out there that teaches Christians how to achieve dominion over earthly societies through seven categories of influence. Teachers like Lance Wallnau instruct Christians in the philosophy of what he calls the Seven Mountains of Influence, which he says will bring about Jesus' kingdom on earth BEFORE Jesus' arrival in the clouds. This is the kind of thing that causes many a liberal's blood to run cold, and rightly so. While his teachings contain some truths, the bulk of them are false teachings, designed for the sole purpose of deceptively leading his followers toward violence and welcoming the Anti-Christ with open arms. Shocking isn't it? Scripture clearly says that when Jesus comes back in the clouds, he, and he alone, will set up his righteous kingdom in the aftermath of Satan's toppled false Anti-Christ kingdom, and only then will Jesus let the saints rule with him, and not one day before ! So until that time, might I suggest that we:
